April 11th Edu Pedi trauma
Posted over 8 years ago by Genevieve Lauria
Hello all,
Thank you to all those that came to last month’s education event. We had a record number of attendance (34 people!). We are now looking forward to our next education day which is April 11th at DHMC Aud A from 4-5p with Dr Reto Baertshiger. Dr B is one of the pedi trauma surgeons at DHMC and will be discussing the wide scope of practice of a pediatric surgeon, including neonatal, pediatric and adolescent thoracic and general surgery and trauma care. He will also go over the pediatric patient according the ATLS guidelines and review the work up algorithm and available resources when non-accidental trauma is suspected (child abuse).
EMS providers encouraged to attend!
Afterwards we will head to the Skinny Pancake in Hanover for drinks, networking, and snacks.
Only one more education day before we take a break for the Summer.
May 11 DHMC 4-5p Doc Rhynhart will go over adult nero trauma
(This one would be great for those in EMS to ICU)
We will start back up in late September. Dates TBA.
We are looking for ideas for this coming fall. Please let us know if you have any topics you would like to hear more about or speakers you would like. Also, if you have a topic you are passionate about and would like to present on (great for annual performance, CCRN credit, etc.) let us know. We would love to have our members teach each other!
We will be electing a new secretary this May. (Yes this means you will be stuck with Gen and Jason for one more year). There will be a little bio sent to member in the next few weeks so you can vote. Emails will be sent to members with a survey monkey prior to the meeting in May with the perspective leaders. Gen and Jason would love to hear if you would like to me mentored over the next year into their positions. Please let us know if that is something you would be interested in.
As always please share with your fellow co-workers, friends, neighbors, and any one you meet that may want to learn more about the care we provide our patients from the field to the ICU.
Look forward to seeing everyone on April 11th!
Gen, Jason, and Hillary
