Skiway and Airway managment of a Trauma patient

Posted over 7 years ago by Genevieve Lauria

Hello all,

Next education is Tuesday Feb 13 with Clay Odell RN, NRP at the Dartmouth Skiway. We will be starting at 4:30pm to allow ski patrol to do their sweep. We will have a live demo of retrieval of a pt suspected of a spinal injury by the Dartmouth ski patrol. We will then take it inside for a lecture by Clay about maintaining the airway of a pt with a c-spine injury using the left lateral recumbent position during transport. Clay is the director of Upper Valley Ambulance and a longtime member of AACN-DRN. We are super happy one of our own is sharing their passion and knowledge.

As always this is a FREE event open to anyone who wants to learn (you do not need to be a member). Please bring a friend or two and spread the word.

Bonfire to follow for a potluck and fellowship at Brynn Cafazzo's house just down the road from the Skiway.

Please come dressed warmly to stand outside in the snow for the demo. Lecture will be in the warm lodge;) Also, feel free to go skiing for the day as full day and 1/2 day tickets are $20!
